On the older hmmwv with the 60 amp generator, the main power runs through this box so you can tap into that power source to heat the glow plugs manually for 4 seconds to start the truck You'll need a 24 volt solenoid preferably out of another junk starter box and any momentarily push button switch "doesn't matter what voltage it's rated at"

Just recently checked spindle nut on my 85 998 1038 It has the old 4 slot spindle nut Tab is secure and holds just fine My question is should I upgrade to 8 slot nut ? If so can I just replace the nut itself or do I need to replace washers and spindle nut washers as well ?
